Facial Recognition for Purchasing Cigarettes

Vending machine in Japan is very common like we having fast food restaurants everywhere in the U.S. Some of the vending machines in Japan are very rare to us since we do not have much vending machines in the U.S. For examples, noodle vending machine, ticket vending machines, comic vending machines, mp3 vending machines, underwear, DVD, Hamburger…man, they have so many vending machines that I cannot list them all. So, back to the topic, as we all know that in most of the big cities in the world you need to be at least 18 year old or older in order to have the permission to purchase cigarettes. The way that the sellers know whether he or she is 18 or not is by looking at their IDs. Well, a Japanese company Fujitaka, created a vending machine that can detects(guessing) people’s age without using people to check for IDs, and that is facial recognition technology. So, may be we should have the gun vending machines in the U.S, and using the facial recognition technology to detects whether he or she has the legal age to buy guns. Will that be a good idea?
