Real Size Gundam

The big project of making a real size Gundam RX-78 is finally nearly finished. Here are some photos taken by a US Sailor and Otaku in Japan. Check out more info and photos in his blog Moé Passion

  1. where is this?

Funny the sign says “Green Tokyo”. I don’t think this Gundam is biodegradable. Making it probably wasted a whole buttload of energy and resources. Way to go! A giant robot is just the thing Japan needs to revitalize its decades-long sagging economy!

  3. Their economy is sagging? I don’t think thats 100 percent accurate, but I could be wrong. Anyway, this is pretty sweet. The second I saw the title I knew it was in Japan. They get all the cool, nerdy stuff.

  10. Its not a robot, its a statue of a robot. I always found it interesting how japan is so obsessed with children piloting man shaped fighting robots. Probably the expression of a desire for power while keeping human forms. I wonder how much this cost.

  11. Man I just wanna sit in it and start boosting up “on, to outer space.”
No matter the economy, money, or what not, this is a great accomplishment.

  14. I really think that Japan its running a Secret Mecha Military Project, because they always think in parallel mode. Japan never forgets.
